🐾 New Dog Core Vaccination Protocol

The C3 vaccine (distemper, parvovirus, and ...hepatitis) is considered a core vaccination for all dogs.

In line with the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) guidelines, our clinic will now be giving the C3 vaccination every 3 years once dogs are over 12 months of age. We use a vaccine that is registered for use every 3 years, so this schedule will be recognised by boarding kennels 🏡.

Puppy schedule:

1st vaccination at 8 weeks

2nd vaccination at 12 weeks

3rd vaccination at 16 weeks

Booster dose: 12 months after the last puppy vaccination

After this course is complete, the C3 will be given every 3 years 🗓️.

Important note:
If your dog receives the C5 vaccination (which includes the kennel cough component), the kennel cough portion will still need to be given every year 🐕.
